What to expect from online therapy

Our goal is to make the process of starting online therapy as simple and straightforward as possible.

01
Ten-minute phone consultation

After you reach out, we then determine a convenient time where we will connect to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and what you’d like gain from your treatment. We will also go over other general information such as payment structure, insurance, etc., as well as any other questions you might have. This phone call will help determine if your needs and what I can provide are a match. In the event, they are not, that is okay. I will offer referral information and you will still be one step closer to connecting with a therapy provider who will work for you to meet your mental health needs.

02
Scheduling

Once we mutually agree to start a therapeutic relationship, we then schedule your first appointment! From here, you will receive an email directing you to a secure portal link where you will be log in and be prompted to complete and virtually sign a few forms (intake, informed consent, financial: credit card/payment/copayment/insurance information). These forms are important for your treatment journey to begin and will need to be completed prior to your first session. Your understanding is appreciated!

Prior to your first appointment, you will receive an email with a HIPAA secure Zoom link for your specific appointment date and time. It will be important for you to be in a private space for your session so you can be focused on you and only you! I’ve had clients opt to have their sessions in their car (of course, not while driving) to make this happen. You can access Zoom from your smart phone, a tablet or from a computer and/or laptop (assuming there is a built in camera or one is attached). Although video conferencing is the main recommendation for Telehealth appointments, I do also offer phone sessions as an option if generally preferred or just needed once in awhile.

03
Navigating your
virtual therapy
session

During our first meeting, I will gain a thorough understanding of your specific mental, physical, and emotional health needs. Collaboratively, we will identify your goals and develop a therapy treatment plan for your success.

04
Psychosocial
assessment
(initial session)

05
Psychotherapy
treatment

We will consistently meet according to your treatment need frequency (for example: weekly, twice weekly, every other week) for virtual appointments designated just for you. During this time we will work towards the objectives determined during your assessment to promote your mental and emotional well-being goals all within a safe collaborative space.
