I'm Kristin Tomczak, the founder of You Matter Therapy Services and a licensed psychotherapist in Florida and Illinois with over 20 years of clinical behavioral health experience. It's my goal to provide solid clinical therapy treatment structured to your individual needs to support your mental health journey.

Mental health is health just as much as physical health is health. Both aspects need to be managed. When one is off balance, it affects the other. Research evidence, as well as what I've witnessed as a therapy provider, validates that psychotherapy with a trusted licensed therapist is a highly beneficial avenue to tend to your mental health needs.

I am passionate about the statement, "You Matter." The healing process encompasses all aspects of yourself, which includes your goals and ambitions, as well as learning to love, honor, and most importantly give grace to your current and/or past self. In both my clinical experience and personal life, I have seen people struggle to prioritize and even often downplay their mental health needs. Overwhelmingly, at its core, is a wounded message learned early on and subsequently repeated over the years that somehow their needs are less important than the needs of others. If you relate to this on any level, please know this is not your fault. With this said, you are the only one who can change it. I am driven to help with this process. When your experiences are heard, understood, and acknowledged, you start to absorb that You Matter. This promotes the confidence to begin taking steps toward the positive outcomes you desire.

I would be honored and privileged to support your journey. To determine if I'm the best fit for your needs, please reach out so we can schedule a free 10-minute consultation. You will receive a response to schedule a time within 12-24 hours (likely much sooner).

FAQs

  • Our goal is to make the first step in your mental health journey as quick and easy as possible. Simply fill out our contact form, and we will be in touch shortly to schedule your free 10-minute consultation call. During this call, we will discuss your therapy needs and general information.

  • Prior to your first appointment, you will receive an email with a HIPAA secure Zoom link for your specific appointment date and time. You can access Zoom from your smartphone, tablet, computer, or laptop (assuming there is a built-in camera or one is attached). Although video conferencing is the main recommendation for telehealth appointments, I also offer phone sessions as an option if preferred or just needed once in a while. The most important thing is to find a private space for your session so you can be focused on you and only you!

  • During your free 10-minute consultation call, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and what you’d like to gain from your treatment. This phone call will help determine if your needs and what I can provide are a match. In the event they are not, that is okay. I will offer referral information and you will still be one step closer to connecting with a therapy provider who will work for you to meet your mental health needs.

  • Our self-pay rates (for those without insurance) are as follows:

    Psychosocial assessment/evaluation (initial appointment): $150

    Follow-up therapy appointments: $95

  • Yes! You Matter Therapy Services is credentialed with most major insurance companies. See the full list of insurance we accept here.

  • Your session time is important! With this said, scheduling conflicts do happen and we understand this. If you need to cancel and/or reschedule an appointment, please provide 48 hours notice. This allows someone else who could benefit from an appointment at that specific time/date to be scheduled.

If you are unable to cancel within the requested time frame (48 hours prior to your appointment time) or are not available for your appointment, a $50 fee will be charged to your credit card on file.

*Extenuating and emergency situations will be tended to differently.
